Uno de los objetivos principales de este blog es transmitirles lo que pasa en el mundo moda pero para comprender mejor como funciona este mundo debo explicarles desde su raíz así que hoy les traigo un post super especial acerca de la primera persona que se atrevió a experimentar con la alta costura y que mucho de lo que vemos hoy es gracias a el.
Hi guys, I hope you’re feeling great! ❤ One of the main goals of this blog is to transmit what’s happening of the Fashion World but for a better comprehension on how this World works I need to explain it since it’s very beginning. So today I have a super special post where I’m talking about the first person who dared to experience with haute couture and that many of the things we can see today are because of him.
El titulo al primer diseñador de modas del mundo se le atribuyo a Charles Frederick Worth un Ingles nacido en el año de 1825 y fallecido en parís en el año 1895. Charles desde niño trabajo en la industria textil en su país, pero cuando cumplió la mayoría de edad se mudo a París para trabajar en una casa de moda como vendedor y al cabo de un tiempo obtuvo un cargo importante en esta casa de moda donde comenzó a diseñar y confeccionar sus primeros vestidos, aquí también conoció a su futura esposa Marie Vernet quién tuvo un papel importante en la carrera de Worth ya que fue la primera modelo en usar los vestidos diseñados por Worth esto tuvo muchísimo éxito ya que en esa época nunca se había visto una modelo de carne y hueso porque los modistas solo usaban maniquís para la exhibición de sus prendas.
The title to the First Fashion Designer of the World was given to Charles Frederick Worth, an English man born in 1825 and died in Paris 1895. Since he was a child, Charles worked in the textile industry in UK but when he had the age of majority he moved to Paris to work in a Fashion House as a sales man. After some time he got an important job in this Fashion House where he started designing and making his first dresses. Here he met his future wife Marrie Vernet who had a very important role in his career because she was the first model who wore the dresses that where designed by Worth. This was a total success because in that time there where no human models, dressmakers were just using manikins to show their designs.
Debido a la demanda de vestidos que tenía para 1858 abrió su propia casa de moda en la Rue de la Paix, Worth era un diseñador ambicioso que soñaba con vestir a la nobleza así que a la llegada de la Princessa Pauline Von Metternich la esposa de Worth le mostró sus diseños y le pidió usar uno de sus vestidos en sociedad, la princesa metternich acepto y uso el vestido de Worth en un evento donde llamo la atención de muchas de las asistentes entre ellas la Emperatriz Eugenia de Montijo, esposa de Napoleón III, la emperatriz de Montijo era una de las mujeres mas influyentes en moda de la época, por lo que Worth se dio a conocer aun más y así mismo se convirtió en el modisto oficial de la emperatriz.
Because of the demand of dresses he had in 1858 he opened his own Fashion House in Rus de la Paix. Worth was an ambitious designer who dreamed on dressing the Royalty so when Princess Pauline Von Metternich arrived, Worth’s wife showed her his designs and asked her to wear one of Worth’s dresses in society. The Princess accepted and wore the dress where she attracted the attention of many of the participants including the Empress Eugenia de Montijo who was married to Napoleon the III. The Empress was one of the most influential women on that time, this way Worth made himself known even more and became the oficial Empress’s dressmaker.
Ademas Worth también fue el pionero de la firma de sus diseños poniendo una etiqueta con su nombre en sus prendas, así mismo fue el primer arriesgado en diseñar lo que el quería, en la moda de antes los modistas visitaban a sus clientas siguiendo indicaciones de ellas sobre como querían sus vestidos, pero worth decidió que serían sus clientas quienes irían a su tienda a comprar sus vestidos.
Furthermore Worth was also the pioneer on labeling his designs, he put a label with his name on his designs. Also he was the first one who took the risk in designing what he wanted, before him, dressmakers would visit their clients following the instructions they gave them about how they wanted their dresses but Worth decided that his clients were the ones who would go to his store to buy his dresses.
También Worth invento lo que hoy conocemos como colecciones y pasarelas de moda ya que año con año cambiaba sus diseños y citaba a sus clientas pero de ellas escogía solo a sus mejores clientas y les ponía el vestido que quería que modelaran alrededor de ellas sentaba a sus demás clientas para que pudieran escoger el diseño que mas les gustara, ademas que sus piezas eran totalmente únicas.
Worth also invented what we actually know as Collections and Fashion Runways because year by year he changed his designs and he chose and made an appointment with his best customers and he asked them to wear the dress he wanted them to model, the other customers took a seat, watched and chose the design they liked the most, also his clothes were totally unique.
Por todo lo antes mencionado es que a Worth se le conoció como el padre de la Alta Costura y a París la primera capital de la moda.

For the aforementioned Worth is known as the Father of Haute Couture and Paris is known as the First Fashion Capital.
